Add D.C. to List of Places You Don’t Need to Pass the Bar to Practice Law

Washington, D.C. has joined a handful of states granting waivers to practice law without taking the bar exam due to the COVID-19 outbreak. So reports WTOP News.

washington dc 79565 1280The new “emergency examination waiver” applies to students who graduated in 2019 or 2020 who were registered for the test. Prior to the ruling, an online exam was set for early October and some graduates were allowed to practice law on a temporary basis. The D.C. Court of Appeals argued that wasn’t good enough, though, and thus implemented the new program. According to the article, Oregon, Utah Washington State, and Louisiana already offer full exam waivers.
