San Antonio Judge Rules Plaintiff Has No Standing in First SB 8 Case

A San Antonio judge tossed the lawsuit filed against an abortion provider who violated Texas Senate Bill 8, which allows individuals to bring lawsuits against anyone who performs an abortion after six-weeks’ gestation. So reports the Texas Tribune.

texas flag 28569 1280District Judge Aaron Haas said the parties bringing action against the provider, Dr. Alan Braid, were not harmed by his actions and therefore do not have standing in the matter. This was the first case of its kinds with respect to the controversial law.
