SCOTUS Refuses Case Challenging Men-only Draft Law

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear a case brought by the National Coalition for Men challenging the law that requires men, but not women, to register for the draft. So reports NPR.

supreme court 544218 640smallJustices Sonia Sotomayor, Brett Kavanaugh and Stephen Breyer noted that at the time the draft was enacted, women were barred from combat roles. Further, Congress is presently considering the question, and its National Commission on Military, National and Public Service has recommended the draft include both women and men between 18 and 26 years old.
