Apple, Epic Games Exchange Another Legal Salve Over Fortnite

U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers tossed two Apple counterclaims related to its legal battle with Fortnite creator Epic Games. So reports Ars Technica.

Apple2Apple and Epic Games have been disputing Apple’s 30% microtransaction cut, as Epic Games began offering a direct payments option to skirt the fee. Apple responded by banning the game from the Apple Store and Epic sued for “anti-competitive conduct.”

Apple’s recent claims, though, which sought additional punitive damages and argued “intentional interference,” were thrown out as “a matter of law.”
