Today’s in-house counsel can do more than just throw a wet blanket on every potentially risky initiative that their companies’ many teams might propose. So reports The Atlantic.

It’s possible, some lawyers at top companies say, for an in-house lawyer to be seen as more of a partner than a gatekeeper, provided he or she is prepared to help a company achieve its goals, rather than just make the company aware of the risks those goals involve.
