Jennifer Mitchell, of Missouri, is suing L’Oréal and several other companies alleging “regular and prolonged exposure to phthalates and other endocrine disrupting chemicals” in hair straightening products contributed to her illness. Mitchell is seeking more than $75,000 in addition to compensation for medical expenses, loss of earnings and punitive damages, among others.
