Louisville, Breonna Taylor's Family Agree to 'Historic' Settlement

The city of Louisville agreed to pay $12 million to Breonna Taylor’s family, in addition to enacting “sweeping police reforms,” in order to settle the family’s wrongful death suit against the city. So reports CNN.

black live matter 5278646 640Taylor was killed by police in her home in March during a no-knock warrant. “As part of the settlement, the city agreed to establish a housing credit program as an incentive for officers to live in the areas they serve; use social workers to provide support on certain police runs; and require commanders to review and approve search warrants before seeking judicial approval, among other changes,” according to the article. The settlement is believed to be the highest-ever paid out by Louisville.
