Did Trump Offer Assange a Pardon Over Russia's Email Hack?

Former Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) was allegedly sent to the Ecuadoran Embassy in London to broker a deal with Julian Assange that would have given the Wikileaks founder clemency if he gave up information proving the Russian government was not the source of the hacked emails from the Democratic Party published on Assange's Wikileaks website. So reports Ars Technica.

trump 1822121 640 smallIt is unclear, the article reads, if Rohrabacher “actually had authority to make such an offer on the Trump administration's behalf.” In the past Rohrabacher has been dubbed "Putin's favorite Congressman" and "Russia's favorite Congressman" because of his Russia-friendly views which included Russia's attack on Georgia and its annexation of Crimea.

Assange is facing extradition to the U.S. on 18 charges including conspiracy to commit computer intrusion.
