Sen. Warren's Texas Bar Registration Listed Her as 'American Indian'

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren listed her race as "American Indian" in a registration card filed with the Texas State Bar in 1986. So reports Fox News.

This is the first recorded instance of Warren's identification as Native American on "an official document or in her own handwriting." Warren apologized last week to the Cherokee Nation for attempting to prove her ancestry with a DNA test.

Warren taught at the University of Texas School of Law at the time she filed the card.
