Detroit Hit with $105M Lawsuit for Locking Up Wrong Man for 18 Years

Mubarez Ahmed, who was recently released from the Dickerson Detention Facility, is suing the City of Detroit for $105 million after spending 18 years behind bars for a crime he did not commit. So reports WXYZ.

Ahmed was convicted for a 2001 double homicide. The lawsuit also alleges a homicide sergeant framed him for the murder. The accused police sergeant works for the Detroit Police Department.
