'Cory's Law' Allows Booker to Run for Senate, Prez at the Same Time

A recently signed law will allow New Jersey's junior senator, Cory Booker, to run for both U.S. Senate and President simultaneously, should he choose to do so. So reports Governing.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy signed the bill, unofficially called "Cory's Law" to "clarify" election law. The laws state a Senator or member of the House can appear on a general election and primary ballot for those offices at the same time as the presidency.

Sponsors said state law already likely allows such a political maneuver, but this law would ensure success should a candidate be challenged.
