Duo Reach $2.5M Settlement After Police Ignore Legit Kidnapping Claims

Police in Southern California reached a $2.5 million settlement with Denise Huskins and her boyfriend Aaron Quinn after the couple's kidnapping claims were called a hoax by the authorities. So reports the Associated Press.

Huskins and Quinn said they were drugged by an intruder and that Huskins was kidnapped and sexually assaulted. After the police dismissed the claims, evidence surfaced that they were credible.

Police in the city of Vallejo, California, realized they erred after disbarred attorney Matthew Muller was, in fact, tied to the abduction, implicated in another incident and eventually pleaded guilty to kidnapping. He is in jail serving a 40-year prison sentence.

The bizarre kidnapping included a spy drone, fake email account and recorded message designed to make the victims believe multiple people were involved in the abduction.
