Lenovo Pays Out to Resolve Pop-up Software Said to Expose Users to Hackers

Lenovo will pay $3.5 million and change its laptop-sales practices after an agreement with the federal government and 32 states. So reports ABC News.

Lenovo was said to have sold computers with preloaded software potentially exposing users’ personal information. The “VisualDiscovery” software delivered pop-up ads to consumers. Officials from Lenovo disagreed with the allegations but were glad to resolve the matter.
