Ex-NYPD Detective Sues for Wrongful Termination, Says He Can't Support Family

Cecil Waithe, a former NYPD detective, filed a lawsuit in federal court claiming a faulty drug test cost him his job and he is now unemployable and struggling to support his family. So reports The New York Daily News.

Waithe said a second drug test, given 10 days after the first, came back negative. However, he claims the second sample was destroyed by the Drug Testing Unit. He also claims an independent testing lab administered two hair, blood and urine tests that showed he was not a drug user. Waithe said despite 30 years of service, he is unable to find work because the NYPD will not provide him a recommendation.
