Disney Alligator Case: Legal Experts Weigh In

Florida law tends to favor the tourism industry and may make it difficult to show liability in the recent death of a small boy who was killed by an alligator at a Disney resort, says one expert. So reports The New York Daily News.

However, another expert said the expectation of the “highest duty of care” could spell trouble for the theme park and resort operator. Signage at the lake where the boy was snatched, along with what Disney employees knew about the risks of alligator attack, are also being called into question.

Disney generally does not settle in cases like this due to Florida’s favorable statutes, but if it were to settle, the agreement would likely remain a secret.
