Defense Attorney: Accuser Too Fat for Story to Be Plausible

At the trial of Dan Nelson, who is being accused of attempted rape, Nelson’s defense attorney asked the alleged victim to verify her 215-pound weight in an attempt to discredit her story. So reports The New York Post.

The victim claims that Nelson, who is an attorney in New York City, tried to rape her on the pop-out bed in his office conference room. When Nelson’s lawyer, Tim Parlatore, asked her whether the bed broke at any point, the victim said no. The judge sustained the prosecutor’s objection to Parlatore’s line of questioning before Parlatore could point out that, according to the manufacturer’s website, the Murphy bed can’t sustain more than 220 pounds of weight in total.
