Attorney Benched for a Year After Depositing Client Funds Into Personal Account  

Yoram Keinan, a New York attorney, was handed a one-year suspension after depositing clients’ money, intended for his law firm, into his private account. He then used the money for personal expenses. So reports Bloomberg.

thumb down 1426814 640Keinan deposited almost $60,000 in checks meant for an unspecified law firm. The New York appeals court issued the ruling, and the suspended attorney will also be directed to the New York City Bar Association’s Lawyer Assistance Program.
