Minnesota Bar Owners May Face Felony For Selling Wisconsin Brew

The owners of a Minneapolis-area bar could face felony re-sale charges for selling a beer manufactured by a brewing company that only distributes its beers to bars and stores in Wisconsin, thereby making it illegal to buy and sell those beverages in other states. So reports KMSP-TV.

Undercover officers went to the Maple Tavern after receiving several anonymous tips that the bar was serving Spotted Cow, a farmhouse beer brewed in Wisconsin and distributed only in-state. Before the Maple Tavern was busted in the sting, the bar’s owners had bought at least six kegs of Spotted Cow at a liquor store in Hudson, Wis.
