Abortion Protesters' 35-Foot Buffer Law is Too Broad: High Court

A Massachusetts law that, according to supporters, changed the sidewalks adjacent to abortion clinics from “frightening” to “safe” is unconstitutional, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled. So reports the Boston Globe.

The law that the high court struck down bans people from protesting within 35 feet of abortion clinics, and the Court’s decision effectively overturns similar laws in several other states. Experts say the decision leaves room for less pervasive laws keeping protesters away from the immediate areas outside the clinics.
