Both Democratic senators in Virginia endorsed him for the position. Terwilliger served as associate deputy AG and chief of staff for Rod Rosenstein, who has a prominent role in the Russia investigation.
Terwilliger has worked to prosecute violent criminals, MS-13 members, and oversaw day-to-day operations of his department. He will now work one of the most "high-profile" jurisdictions in the country, where President Trump's campaign chairmen is facing criminal charges.
