Man Uses ‘Stand Your Ground’ Defense After Beating 5-Year Old with Tennis Racket

Osmailer Torres, of Miami, is seeking to have charges against him dropped under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law after he was accused of hitting a 5-year-old with a tennis racket. So reports The New York Daily News.

Torres was arrested in July after a video allegedly showed him taking a tennis racket from the boy and beating him with it at a church playground. Torres’ attorney said the boy has a pattern of aggression and Torres was trying to protect the other students. An immunity hearing will take place next year.
