Judge Critical of Lawyer’s Cerebral Palsy Likely Out of Housing Court

Susan Avery, a Manhattan judge with years of complaints against her, is likely out of a job after the Housing Court advisory council recommended she get the boot. So reports The New York Post.

She reportedly ridiculed a lawyer with cerebral palsy and allowed cases involving tenants without hot water and heat to unnecessarily linger. Avery was also criticized for failing to disclose a conflict of interest involving a law firm administering a family trust. She has served in the $175,000 per year position since 2012.
