Time Warner Merger Likely Headed to Court

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson told Justice Department officials to prepare for a court battle after anti-trust enforcers blocked the company’s planned acquisition of Time Warner, Inc. So reports Bloomberg News.

AT&T bid $85.4 billion to buy Time Warner, sparking a DOJ decision to block the acquisition. The company’s attorney said AT&T is prepared to go to trial in fewer than 60 says.

The company is willing to negotiate a way to have the deal approved without legal action, but Stephenson said the company will not sell CNN to “appease Washington.” As part of its strategy, AT&T plans to seek access to communications between the DOJ and White House.
