Black NYPD Cops Passed Over for Promotions File Class Action Suit

Detectives Jon McCollum and Roland Stephens, along with the widow of Theodore Coleman, are suing the NYPD after claiming they were denied promotions because of their race. So reports The New York Post.

The trio worked in the department’s “elite” intelligence division tasked with investigating terrorism, among other crimes. The detectives pointed to their strong track records as cause for promotion while the NYPD contested black third-grade detectives in the Intelligence Bureau were promoted faster than other detectives.
