Ex-Patriot Hernandez' Murder Conviction Tossed

Ex-New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez's 2013 murder conviction was thrown out by a Massachusetts judge because he died before his appeal was concluded. So reports WHEC News 10, an NBC affiliate.

The judge ruled legal doctrine created a “binding precedent” that called for Hernandez conviction to be vacated. However, prosecutors argued dismissing his conviction rewards Hernandez's decision to commit suicide.
