Lawsuit: NYC Mayoral Candidate ‘Illegally’ Snooped on Reporters for Fox

New York City mayoral candidate Bo Dietl was accused of illegally securing journalists’ credit reports and phone records at the request of Fox News executives. So reports The New York Daily News.

A lawsuit filed in Manhattan Federal Court alleges Dietl, a private investigator and former Fox contributor, “hounded” journalists considered rivals of former CEO Roger Ailes. The lawsuit cites New York Magazine reporter Gabriel Sherman as one of Dietl’s alleged targets.

Dietl denies the allegations and says he had limited contact with Ailes. He adds that he was unhappy the network passed him over for a security gig.
