$25 Dancing Fine in Henryetta, OK Abolished After Event Cancelled

It is now legal to dance within 500 feet of a church or public school in Henryetta, Oklahoma. So reports the Associated Press.

An ordinance requiring a $25 penalty for having happy feet too close to schools and churches was abolished after the city attorney’s wife planned a dance at her store, which was in a prohibited zone, but members of the city’s Chamber of Commerce complained. Mayor Jennifer Clason decided to review the ordinance upon hearing the event was cancelled, leading to its eventual repeal.
