NYC Claims Immunity in Lawsuit Brought By ‘Sopranos’ Star

New York City is claiming immunity in a $17 million lawsuit brought by ‘Sopranos’ star Drea de Matteo and 35 of her neighbors. The lawsuit is related to a March 2015 explosion that killed two people. So reports The New York Post.

The actress lived more than two decades with family in one of the three buildings destroyed. She and the other tenants allege the city failed to “properly test the gas lines” and was neglectful in enforcing, inspecting and certifying its gas system.

Representatives from NYC denied fault and said those responsible include Con Edison, the five people who were said to have an illegal gas hookup and the building’s managers.

On The Sopranos, de Matteo played Adriana La Cerva, the fiancé of Tony Soprano's "nephew" Christopher Moltisanti.
