Sandra Bland's Family Reaches $1.9M Settlement in Wrongful Death Case

The family of Sandra Bland, who was found dead in a Texas jail cell after she was arrested during a traffic stop, said they have arrived at a tentative settlement related to a wrongful death suit. So reports ABC News.

The $1.9 million settlement was reached in the suit against the Texas Department of Public Safety in Waller County, along with several employees. Bland was arrested after allegedly getting into an altercation with a state trooper following a traffic stop. She was found dead in her cell three days later. Authorities ruled the incident a suicide. The settlement also includes changes to prison procedures.
