Feds Arresting People for Defaulting on Student Loans

A Texas man was arrested by federal marshals for failing to repay a $1,500 student loan that he took out 30 years ago when he was a student at Prairie View A&M University. So reports the Fox26.

The man, Paul Aker, 48, says he had no idea what was going on when armed U.S. Marshals showed up at the door of his home and threw him to the ground. He also says that, after being placed in a holding cell, he was taken to court and ordered to sign a payment plan for $5,700. Up to 1,500 people who have not repaid their loans will soon be served with warrants, according to U.S. Marshals.
