Lawyer Sentenced to More Than 2 Life Sentences in Brutal Revenge Attack

Andrew Schmuhl was handed two life sentences, plus 98 years in prison, after committing a brutal home invasion. So reports The Washington Post.

Schmuhl was said to have held Leo Fisher and his wife Susan Duncan hostage in their Virginia home and slashed their throats. Prosecutors said Schmuhl, and his wife, fellow attorney Alecia Schmuhl, sought revenge against Fisher after he fired Alecia Schmuhl from his law firm.

The victims said the attack has caused a substantial impact on their quality of life. The final sentencing hearing is set for Aug. 26 and the judge can accept the jury’s sentence, or take time off the sentence. However, the sentence cannot be increased.
