Jacob Blake Drops Civil Rights Suit Against Cop Who Shot Him

Jacob Blake, who was shot by a Kenosha police officer in 2020, sparking days of protests, has dropped his civil rights suit against the officer. So reports USA Today.

rusten sheskeyPolice officer Rusten Sheskey, responding to a 911 call, shot Blake who he said resisted arrest. Reports indicate Blake went to his car and emerged with a knife. Blake survived the shooting but was paralyzed from the waist down. Sheskey was not charged with a crime or disciplined for the shooting.  

The civil case was dropped with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled. It is unclear, as of press time, whether the action was part of a settlement agreement. .
