Rittenhouse Attorney Asks for Mistrial After Prosecutor Raises Issue of Silence  

The defense for accused shooter Kyle Rittenhouse has asked for a mistrial after Kenosha County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger questioned Rittenhouse about his decision to remain silent ahead of taking the stand. So reports Yahoo! News.

gavel 3577254 1920Seeming to agree the line of questioning was inappropriate, Kenosha County Circuit Judge Bruce Schroeder ordered the jury to leave the courtroom while admonishing Binger. “The problem is this is a grave constitutional violation for you to talk about the defendant’s silence,” Schroeder said. “You're right on the borderline, and you may be over it. But it better stop.”
