Keggins’ husband gave his body to the state-run Maryland Anatomy Board in 2015 after losing a battle with ALS. The error was one of several related to the “poor tracking of bodies, erroneous record-keeping and a donor’s cremains being mistakenly buried in a state cemetery.” The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
