Woman Charged for Playing Topless Frisbee Gets $50k Settlement

Effie Krokos of Colorado was awarded a $50,000 settlement after being charged with "indecent exposure" as she was cited for playing Frisbee topless. So reports the Mercury News

This was the first damages paid to a woman in the U.S. after wrongfully being charged for being topless. Krokos was playing Frisbee in her front yard with her fiance and took her top off after she got warm, she says. Denver civil rights attorney David Lane, who has experience in the subject area, helped secure the settlement based on another ruling dealing with the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.
