SUNY Albany Athletics Under Investigation for Cutting Women's Tennis Squad

The University at Albany athletics program is under federal investigation after a complaint was filed by the school’s former women’s tennis coach. So reports the Times Union.

The University’s athletics program faces the Title IX investigation after Coach Gordon Graham complained to the U.S. Department of Education that the university cut the school’s tennis program. The school does not have a men’s tennis team, but Graham alleges the elimination of the program “exacerbated an existing gap between male and female athletic opportunities at the university.”

The university is aware of the investigation and cooperating, according to school officials.
