Iowa Ban On LGBTQ+ Books Largely Blocked Ahead Of Enactment  

A federal judge blocked parts of an Iowa law prohibiting LGBTQ+ issues from being raised by teachers and banning certain books from school libraries. So reports The Sun Sentinel.

lgbtq 2495947 1920The law was set to take effect on Monday, Jan. 1, but its enforcement will be delayed due to the temporary injunction. The injunction comes as Judge Stephen Locher said the ban was “incredibly broad” and led to the removal of “history volumes, classics, award-winning novels” and even some books aimed at helping individuals avoid sexual assault.
