Nonprofit Accuses ICE of Blocking Legal Services for Detainees

RAICES, a nonprofit immigration legal group, filed a complaint against the Trump administration alleging Immigration and Customs Enforcement is blocking those in a Texas detention facility from gaining access to legal services. So report’s NBC News.

ICE is being accused of not following its own protocols. The complaints include “failing to make space available for private meetings with clients, setting new requirements for lawyers to meet with clients, so that fewer people can meet with attorneys, and eliminating a 'walk-in' signup list,” according to the article. A statement from ICE states it has exceeded meeting standards.
