Avenatti, who gained attention for his lawsuit on behalf of adult film star Stormy Daniels against President Donald Trump, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence against former girlfriend Mareli Miniutti.
However, he will not face felony domestic abuse charges. The case, referred to the City Attorney's Office, could yield a misdemeanor charge, though. Avenatti says Miniutti's claims are "completely bogus."
