Ex-Louisville Basketball Player Hits Adidas with Racketeering Suit

Brian Bowen Jr., a former high school and collegiate basketball player, claims representatives from Adidas tried to influence the families of talented players to sway them toward picking schools associated with the shoe company. So reports The Wall Street Journal

The crux of the lawsuit hinges on Bowen's allegation the company caused him "foreseeable economic injury" by allegedly invaliding his college eligibility by arranging payments to his family. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in South Carolina, seeks damages, attorney's fees and relief, and seeks to prohibit the company and its affiliates from sponsoring "NCAA Division I men's basketball programs."
