Disney Social Clubs at Heart of ‘Protection’ Money Lawsuit

Disney Social Club members John and Leslee Sarno of Sacramento filed a lawsuit claiming five members of another Disney Social Club demanded “protection” money in order to ensure a fundraiser they were throwing went smoothly. So reports National Public Radio (NPR).

The suit alleges the defendant, Jakob Fite, and four others from the White Rabbits, threatened to make certain the Sarnos would no longer be able to enter Disneyland if they didn’t pony up the money.

Fite launched a targeted campaign to discredit the Sarnos and, ultimately, Disneyland refused to let them host another charity walk. Fite denies the allegations and said the suit was retaliatory. Disnleyland is also named in the lawsuit.
