Teachers Union’s Restraining Order Against Project Veritas Lifted

The temporary restraining order granted to the Michigan teachers union against the conservative group Project Veritas has been lifted by a federal judge. So reports Politico.

Initially, Project Veritas was blocked from disclosing videos and other data it garnered from an undercover investigation into the Detroit chapter of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). The union asserts operative Marisa Jorge used an alias to pose as a University of Michigan student in order to unlawfully access confidential information.

The court also said AFT Michigan will likely succeed on the merits of a “breach of duty of loyalty claim,” but ruled a preliminary injunction could infringe on the group’s First Amendment rights.
