In a test case for whether immigrants in this country illegally can practice law in New York, the Empire State’s Supreme Court’s appellate division is currently deciding whether a 30-year-old man who passed the state bar exam and meets all of the other state bar criteria can practice law despite being an unauthorized immigrant.
