Data Model Shows Law Schools Not a Good Investment: Opinion

Higher education research from the Texas Public Policy Foundation shows a majority of law schools fail former President Barack Obama’s “gainful employment” test. So reads an op-ed from the National Review.

The test considers if graduates earn enough money to justify the debt they incurred getting a degree. The University of North Carolina is one notable school that does not pass the test, for example. The author suggests eliminating the American Bar Association mandate that students first attend an accredited law school before taking the bar exam; where someone learns the subject matter is immaterial, reads the opinion.
