Sexual Orientation at Heart of St. Louis Police Lawsuit

The St. Louis County executive took issue with legal staff arguing that Sgt. Keith Wildhaber’s case should be tossed since it's legal to "discriminate" against gays in the state. So reports St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

However, a jury in St. Louis County ordered a payment to Wildhaber of close to $20 million for alleged discrimination and retaliation as he was advised to “tone down his gayness” by superiors. At the heart of this issue was whether or not sexual orientation was considered protected under the law.
