Teacher Sues After Being Fired for Not Using 'Preferred Ponouns'

Former teacher Peter Vlaming is suing school officials who he said fired him because he refused to use a transgendered student's "preferred pronouns." So reports NBC News.

The Virginian ex-teacher taught French at West Point High School and would not use "his" and "him" to refer to a female student reportedly transitioning to a male. Vlaming, who said using those pronouns violated his religious and moral beliefs, used the student's preferred name and avoided pronouns during class. Administrators told him that wasn't acceptable, and when he didn't oblige, fired him.
