Opinion: Struggling with Mental Health Doesn’t Make a Lawyer 'Unethical'

Columnist Brian Cuban took issue with a quote from American Bar Association President Robert Carlson, who said unhealthy lawyers, with respect to their mental well-being, are “unethical.” Cuban expressed his thoughts in an opinion piece from Above the Law.

The statement came during the ABA’s Mid-Year Meeting in Las Vegas. Cuban called for lawyers to address outstanding mental health issues before they impact their practice, though, and acknowledged the importance of lawyers taking care of one another.
