Oregon’s ‘Famously Broad’ Free Speech Clause at Heart of Vape Shop Suit

The Goldwater Institute, of Arizona, filed a lawsuit on behalf of a Portland vape shop challenging Oregon state law prohibiting pictures of fruit and other images on certain packaging it deems attractive to juveniles. So reports Willamette Week.

The lawsuit claims the rules violate the state’s constitution and free speech laws. Paul Bates, who owns Division Vapor, is hoping to block the rules, and noted no one under the age of 21 is allowed in his store anyway. The lawsuit also seeks unspecified damages.
