NJ Back to Prosecuting Pot Offenses

Declining to extend a July 24 order to suspend prosecutions, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal has ordered prosecutors to resume cases against those charged with possession of marijuana. So reports northjersey.com.

Cases against those charged will resume on Sept. 4. 

Additionally, New Jersey lawmakers are debating taxing and legalizing the drug or removing criminal penalties for possession of marijuana. Lawmakers are considering a 71-page bill to remove penalties for possession, create a marketplace and expunge past offenses.
