Sprint on the Hook for $10M After Allegedly Skirting Laws

Communications provider Sprint will pay $10 million to settle a Federal Communications Commission probe regarding tower registration and historic and environmental impact reviews for wireless infrastructure buildings. So reports Reuters.

Sprint contracted with Mobilitie to “deploy” infrastructure and the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau launched an investigation to ensure the companies met legal requirements. Mobilitie agreed to pay $1.6 million.

Christopher Killion, acting deputy chief of the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau, released a statement highlighting the importance of abiding by the regulations.
